Surrounded by the Limfjord and Karup River: Some of the world's best angling near Skive Fjord Camping

We have LOTS of water around Skive Fjord Camping - and therefore also lots of good fishing spots! Within a few kilometers you will find Skive Å, which is the mouth of Karup Å in the Limfjord. Karup Å is one of the world's best rivers to catch brown trout, and if you are more into salmon, you can take a trip to Skjern Å, which is one of the world's best places to catch salmon. You probably didn't know that Denmark could boast of that, huh?
A stone's throw from the campsite you stand with your waders firmly planted in the Limfjord, which offers lots of beautiful sea trout and in the spring also garfish.

There is plenty of information, because fortunately the passion for angling is HUGE in the area, and you will therefore find some absolutely fantastic websites about both fishing in the Limfjord at Havørred Limfjord and about Karup and Skjern Å at Riverfisher. At the same time, there are plenty of local guides who are happy to share tips and tricks, the secret spots and everything else you need to know to really get something out of your fishing holiday.

We hardly need to say more than: OF COURSE the rod, whether with or without a fly, should be taken camping! And if you can't convince your better half of that, you can luckily rent a great rod at reception.

Just a few meters from the campsite you will find the Limfjord, known for its beautiful sea trout. In the spring there are also plenty of garfish here!
In the fjord, sea trout fishing is undoubtedly the most sought-after, but there is also the possibility of entertaining fishing for garfish and herring. You can fish in the fjord right outside the campsite, and in a few minutes' drive it is possible to reach many other coastal sites, so it is always possible to find a spot that suits the weather.

The southeastern part of the Limfjord offers varied and scenic fishing spots. Several of the Limfjord's notable sea trout streams flow here and that means fish - lots of fish! In Hjarbæk Fjord, Simested, Skals, Fiskbæk and Jordbro Å have their outlets. In addition, there is Lerkenfeld Å in Lovns Bredning, Trend Å in Løgstør Bredning and of course Karup Å in Skive Fjord, a few kilometers from the campsite. We are happy to give you tips about the "fishing highway" in Skive Fjord, which is created by the mouth of Karup Å.

A stone's throw from Skive Fjord Camping you will find the outlet of Karup Å, Skive Å. Karup Å is known as one of the world's best fishing waters for catching trout - big trout! The stream runs through the beautiful river valley and meanders through Skive By, before finally flowing into Skive Fjord. Skive Fjord is part of the Limfjord, and as you can probably imagine, there are plenty of fish in Skive Fjord because of the stream. The sea trout go up to the island to spawn, and it is therefore teeming with fish both on the way in and out of the stream but also in Karup Å itself.

There are plenty of exciting put and take lakes within an hour's drive of the campsite. Here you can typically catch fish such as rainbow trout, brown trout, sea trout, tiger trout, silver trout, brook trout and redfish, and several of them also have nice facilities such as toilets, table and bench sets, cleaning areas, bridges and hot drink vending machines.
