Experiences near Skive Fjord Camping

Enjoy a walk in the small forest located at/by the campsite. Either take the small route where you stay at the same level as the campsite, but still get birdsong and lots of greenery for your eyes, or follow the large route down through the hilly terrain, where you eventually end up on the beach.

In spring, you can especially look forward to enjoying the sound of woodpeckers tapping on the trees above you as they try to attract a mate. Dead trees, fallen branches and the like are allowed to remain for the joy and benefit of insects and biodiversity.

In the forest you will also find a mountain bike trail with jumps that you can use for free.

At the foot of the mountain and with direct access from the campsite you will find Marienlyst Beach. The beach is very child-friendly: the water is shallow, peaceful, no scary undercurrents or the like! For the early riser, the beach is a magical place - the sun rises over the fjord, so this is a truly wonderful place to start the day. 

Uniquely, dogs are welcome on the beach and in the water - even in the summer. This is an obvious opportunity for many hours of play with your dog and a fantastic opportunity to swim together on your holiday. 

The slipway on the beach can be used to launch boats by arrangement with reception.

With direct access from the campsite you will find the bathing jetty at Marienlyst Strand. The jetty is perfect if you want to take a dip in the salt water, catch crabs, or sit down with a glass to enjoy the view of the beautiful fjord.

Cultivate fitness and train with perhaps Denmark's most beautiful view of the Limfjord - in the outdoor fitness pavilion you will find many different exercises and tools to work your whole body. Between your sets you can enjoy the beautiful water view - there is hardly a better way to catch your breath.

Take a walk to Skive Marina on one of the country's most beautiful, paved paths along the water's edge. Whether you want to cycle, roller skate or walk/run, the path is a beautiful and safe walk. There are no cars here, so it's perfect for both big and small, with two or four legs. 

From the reception at the campsite to the middle of the marina is 3 km. By the marina are two restaurants as well as a glassblowing workshop and a working goldsmith, where you can get up close to the craft.

Experience life beneath the surface of the Limfjord with a trip in completely transparent canoe/kayak hybrids with VisionKayak. The trips start and end at the bathing jetty on the beach at the campsite, so it's the perfect experience when you're on holiday with us at Skive Fjord Camping. 
Everyone can join the tours, regardless of age or experience level - and dogs are also welcome. 

There is always at least one instructor from VisionKayak to ensure safety along the way, help spot animals below the surface, and answer any questions you may have. For example, you can see jellyfish, ribbed jellyfish, nudibranchs, small fish, sea anemones, starfish, and more.

From the beach at the campsite you can also experience one of the beautiful sunset trips in a GLASSKAJAK®. The trip starts in the last light of day, so you can still see the animals and plants underwater, but the big show is in the sky above you. Enjoy the most beautiful colors over the fjord as the sun sets - and bring a flashlight if you want to continue your journey of discovery below the surface after sunset.

It's SO magical! Bring a flashlight if you want to continue exploring below the surface after sunset.

The closest supermarket to the campsite is the COOP365. It only takes five minutes to drive to the supermarket, which is very well stocked with everything from organic fruit and vegetables to candles and diapers. There is a large selection - including local products such as dairy products from Thise Dairy and beer/soda from Hancock Brewery. 

Fruit Park 3, 7800 Skive

Near the campsite you will also find Min Købmand Rosenbakken, which has a selection of most necessities. You can reach it via paths on foot/bike of approximately 2,5 km or by car of 3,5 km. 
You can also find products from Hancock Brewery at Min Købmand, which also has a well-functioning parcel shop if you need to receive packages during your vacation.

Near the harbor you will find Krabbesholm Forest, which you can either walk to via the Fjord Path or park near the harbor. The forest offers old, enormous oak, ash and beech trees, which are several hundred years old, especially in the southern part. It is one of the forests in Denmark with the highest average age of the trees, and is generally very unusual for Central and Western Jutland. 

It is beautiful and adventurous here with great routes, orienteering posts, a forest lake, small streams and of course a rich wildlife. Krabbesholm Forest is part of the same green belt for wildlife as the campsite's forest. 
In the forest you will also find Krabbesholm Manor, whose main building was built in 1565, and today houses Krabbesholm College.

Svanedamsvej 1, 7800 Skive

One of Denmark's most beautiful, modern marinas can be found in Skive - and you can easily get to the harbor on foot/bike via the Fjord Path. It is 3 km from the reception to the middle of the harbor - and it is such a beautiful walk! 
Of course, it is also possible to drive to the port, which takes about 10 minutes.

At Skive Marina you will also find two restaurants. One is A Hereford Beefstouw, which is located in fantastic surroundings among the old beech trees and with a view of the harbor. Here you always get luxurious steaks and delicious side dishes. It is of course also possible to drive here, which takes about 10 minutes.

The other restaurant you will find at the harbor is Ballast. Ballast is based on New Nordic cuisine and serves local ingredients from the region. The menu varies according to the best seasonal ingredients, so you can enjoy experiencing new dishes often.

Discover beautiful Resenlund, which is also located by the harbor. The buildings were originally built as a tuberculosis sanatorium, but today house mostly apartments as well as a glassblowing and a goldsmith. You can experience both the glassblowing and the smithy up close, and at the same time you can explore Resenlund's history in the basement, which is also open to the public. 

Don't miss Resenlund Open Air with concerts in front of the beautiful buildings.

In beautiful premises at Resenlund you will find Guldsmed Ø - a working goldsmith, where you can get up close to the work of gemstone setter and diamond grader Marie Ø's beautiful creations, and see the artist herself in action. Here you will find everything your heart desires in terms of jewelry - everything is handmade and incredibly skillfully executed. Marie also makes unique jewelry to order, so if you have a dream about something specific, it is definitely on your holiday to Skive that you will make it happen!

Experience a real glassblowing workshop, see how glass art is created - and even try it yourself! At Glaspusteriet Gnist (applied) art is created in glass and ceramics. Here you can find something very special for your home, your caravan or as a gift for someone you love. It is also possible to book a session with the glassblowing workshop, where you can learn to blow your own glass art. 
Visit the working glassblowing and ceramics workshop at Resenlund - right next to the goldsmith.

Visit VildMedVin's delicious wine bar and shop, located close to the harbor. Here you can have a glass of delicious wine and an appetizer or take a look in the beautiful shop with lots of wine, spirits, beer and specialties. You can also get expert guidance from Jesper, who is a passionate wine nerd, and who can guide you to the right wine for you. If you need a wine for a special event or a specific menu, Jesper will help you find the right one.

Do you need an ice cream, a soft ice cream - or good, old-fashioned barbecue food? Then Havnekiosken is just the thing for you. You can either walk here via the Fjord Path by continuing past the harbors in the direction of the pedestrian zone, or you can drive here and park right next to it. It is also a good opportunity to take a walk in Krabbesholm Forest, which Havnekiosken is surrounded by!

At the mouth of Karup Ås into Skive Fjord lies one of Denmark's few remaining river deltas. Across the delta, Denmark's Longest Wooden Bridge takes you from one side to the other dry-footed - so you can admire the unique wetland where Karup Å becomes part of the Limfjord. It is free to visit the wooden bridge. You can either walk to the bridge via the Fjord Path past the harbors, or drive to the parking facilities near the bridge.

The Karup Å river flows into the Limfjord only four km from the campsite. Before that, the Karup Å river winds through Skive City and stretches for approximately 78 km to its source at Skygge between Silkeborg and Ikast. The Karup Å river is the best European fishing water for catching sea trout - so if you are into fishing, the Karup Å river is the place to be. 

It is the original fish population - dating back to the last ice age when the stream was shaped by the retreat of the ice - that still spawns in Karup Å.

Only 4 km from the campsite you will find Skive's modern pedestrian street with lots of specialty shops. Here you will find everything from hairdressers and clothing stores to chocolate shops, cafes and yarn shops. The pedestrian street is also home to several of the larger chains such as Søstrene Grene, Flying Tiger of Copenhagen, NORMAL etc.

Enjoy Sune's Milkshake at Bonbonnieren, a piece of delicious, gluten-free cake at Kaffemøllen or a delicious pancake at Kontoret while you're shopping!

Skive Theatre is part of the city's cultural heart, offering a varied program of theatre performances, concerts and shows throughout the year. The beautiful old theatre hall with its intimate atmosphere makes every performance memorable.

The Art Path in Skive connects the city center with the harbor via Banestien and offers a number of artworks that make the walk both interesting and imaginative. Starting from the Art Staircase in front of Skive Museum, the path is part of the BigBlue project, designed by artist Oskar Koliander, and was completed in June 2023.

Årummet is part of the Sports and Culture Park in Skive, which offers accommodation, play and activities close to Skive Å. The area invites you to relax with sun loungers, water games and stepping stones over the stream, making it ideal for both children and adults. Here you will find lots of fun activities, especially for younger children, as well as a covered lunch area and toilet facilities. The playground is free to use.

In 1875, Skive Anlæg was established to provide a green space in the city. Old, beautiful trees today form the framework for the park, which is divided into two parts - one part towards the city, and the other towards Skive Museum. You are led via a bridge between the two parts. The facility hosts a number of cultural events annually and includes, among other things, an open-air stage and a large aviary with birds.

SønderCentret is located in the middle of Skive, next to Karup Å. It opened in 1992. The center is 11.130 m2 and has Skive's largest parking lot right outside the door.

On May 1, 2022, SønderCentret got new owners and has subsequently undergone a major renovation, where, among other things, new, fine shops have been established - and most comprehensively, SønderCentret has now been opened up towards Karup Å with a restaurant and café. 

Here you will find, among other things, Kop&Kande (pictured here), Bog&Idé, Denmark's largest H&M store, and a large, very well-stocked supermarket, KVICKLY.

Here is a little bit of everything! Quite a short walk from the campsite.

In the center of Skive you will also find a large supermarket with a huge selection of everything within food, spirits and lots of electronics, toys and things for the home. Are you missing a pan in a pinch? Then Føtex is probably still open - and a pan or ten for you to choose from. How smart! Here is very well-stocked and a large selection. 

Føtex Skive also has two quick charging stations from Clever, so you can easily and quickly charge your car when you shop. There are 2 quick chargers that can charge your car up to 80% in approx. 20 min.
