Local ingredients: Exciting producers near Skive Fjord Camping

Near Skive Fjord Camping you will find everything from small gems to the big ones that you probably know - but maybe didn't know, were located near Skive. We have collected some of them that are open to visitors or whose products can be purchased in the local area, below. 

Several of the local food producers mentioned offer tours, have shops and the like, so you have a unique opportunity to visit them - right here, where they belong. 

For example, the campsite is next door to Hancock Breweries, which you probably know for their great beer and Sportscola. Not many minutes' drive from the campsite you will find Thise Mejeri, where you can book a tour or simply explore the delicious cheese shop filled with tasting samples, milk, butter, cocoa, cheeses! - and occasionally also their new, experimental products that have not yet been released to the market, and which you therefore cannot find anywhere else but at the dairy. 

The Limfjord is especially known for our many shellfish, lobsters and oysters. That's why the list also includes Glyngøre Shellfish, where you can both buy shellfish and be guided through the flavors and world of shellfish by Svend in the Oyster Bar.

Only 2 km from the campsite you will find Hancock Brewery, known for its great craft beers, soft drinks (including the famous Sports Cola) and now also cocktails. Of course, at the reception at the campsite you can also find a selection of Hancock products!

Sports cola has been around since the mid-70s and has gained cult status. Rightly so! Look forward to tasting it right here with us - it doesn't get any closer to the source. As a little bonus information, it can be mentioned that Sports cola comes in beer bottles - so don't be nervous when you find out that it's completely normal for children in Skive to have something that looks like a beer in their hand. It's just a delicious Sports cola. 

The brewery itself writes: 
"Good beer takes a long time to produce. We take all the time it takes, because it can be tasted - just like the good raw materials. In all our beers we use 100% Saaz, which is one of the world's finest and most expensive hop varieties, and exclusively Danish-produced malt."

In many towns, the church is the highest - in Skive, it is Hancock Breweries that has the highest position. That certainly says a lot about how proud we Skive residents are of our local brewery, which is also famous around the world. It is possible to book a tour of the brewery.

5,5 km from the campsite you will find Lyby Frugtplantage, it makes fantastic apple juice, which you simply cannot miss when you are on holiday here. 
Here you can buy honey from the bees that pollinate the orchard, apple juice and apple schnapps, and of course fresh apples, pears and plums in season.

A short distance from the campsite you will find Thise Dairy, whose products you probably know from your own local COOP store. Thise Dairy is located here on the Salling peninsula, together with us in Skive, and they make a lot of fantastic, organic products. 

In the Cheese Shop you can find the dairy's entire selection of milk, butter, skyr, yogurt, cocoa milk, cheeses, etc. The Cheese Shop also always offers tastings and a good deal, so here is a very special opportunity to taste the cheeses that have caught your eye from the refrigerated counter. 

It is also possible to book a tour of the dairy - and of course you will also find Thise's products in our local supermarkets.
