Holiday with dog in Jutland: Dog-friendly vacation: Beach, forest and great walks await you and your dog 

If dog parks are something you prioritize on your holiday with your dog, then fortunately it is also possible to find a dog park nearby on your holiday at Skive Fjord Camping. There are five different dog parks in Skive Municipality - two of them within approx. 12 minutes drive from the campsite. 

One, the Arboretum, is about 4,5 hectares and is located about 5 minutes from the site, while the other is located in Skive Plantage at the other end of Skive (about 12 minutes by car). Here there is both a large plantation area with coniferous forest and two dog forests. There is a fenced dog forest where all dogs are allowed, and there is a special extra fence for dogs under 10 kg. So you can either go for walks in the open plantation area, or you can let Fido loose in one of the dog forests, where your dog can really stretch his legs. If you are on holiday here at the right time of year, you may even be lucky enough to find Karl Johan mushrooms in the plantation forest area on your walk with your dog on holiday.

There are several restaurants and cafes with outdoor seating nearby where you can bring your dog out to eat. 

At Skive Marina (walking distance approx. 3 km):
Among other things, Restaurant Ballast and A Hereford Beefstouw Skive are located by Skive Harbor (which you can walk to via the path along the water), both of which have an outdoor terrace where you are welcome to bring your dog.

In the opposite direction up the coast is Lyby Strand Krostue og Iscafé, which, like the two restaurants at the harbor, has beautiful views of the fjord and a cozy outdoor terrace area, where your dog is also very welcome, while you are served delicious food.
Our personal favorite, Breum Landevejskro, serves some of the area's most delicious food, and here it is also possible to sit outside so you can bring your dog out to eat. 

In Skive Town:
There are plenty of restaurants in the city center. Several of them have outdoor dining options where you can bring your dog - including Café Helmuth and Det Italienske Pizzaria og Bøfhus, which have terraces with outdoor dining where dogs are welcome. 

When you go on holiday with your dog at Skive Fjord Camping, you are first and foremost located in the middle of beautiful nature, dominated by the magical view of the Limfjord, and with rolling hills, fields and forests around. 

Here you will find birds chirping and peace - but at the same time you are only 4 km from Skive's city centre with a modern pedestrian street filled with lots of exciting shops selling everything from clothes and shoes for everyone in the family to wine, glasses, chocolate and books. Your dog is of course also welcome in the pedestrian street, so you can go shopping in the pedestrian street on your holiday with your dog - without having to leave Fido at home in the caravan, motorhome, tent or cabin.

Fortunately, there are also plenty of dog-friendly experiences and attractions near the campsite where you can take your dog on holiday. We have collected a few of them below:

Dog-friendly trip in a GLASKAJAK® with VisionKayak from the beach at the campsite:
If your dog is used to being on the water, for example on SUP, in a canoe or kayak, and you can get the dog to lie/sit on a towel or on your lap so that its claws don't scratch, then you are welcome to take Fido on a trip in the GLASKAJAK® with VisionKayak.

Travel back in time at the Hjerl Hede Open Air Museum with your dog:
Dogs are also very welcome at the beautiful open-air museum, Hjerl Hede, which, like Den Gamle by, has lots of unique, old buildings, a water mill, a sawmill, a steam locomotive, an old-fashioned grocery store, etc., that you can experience. During periods there is a revival at Hjerl Hede, so you can experience the old crafts, schools and everything else with authentic life.

Experience Denmark's best preserved medieval castle with your dog:
At Spøttrup Borg, Denmark's best-preserved medieval castle, you can walk in the footsteps of the old knights with your dog: the large park with medicinal garden and many other experiences are perfect for a lovely walk with your dog on holiday. At Spøttrup Borg you will also find live entertainment and medieval markets - including the large Bishop's Market, which attracts people from all over Europe and has laid the foundation for major events such as the World Championship in medieval martial arts, where groups of fighters in armor and with swords compete in the hunt to become the world champion, as well as the World Championship, European Championship and National Championship in knightly tournaments with beautiful horses and knights with lances.

Go underground in the world's largest limestone mine with your dog:
Mønsted Kalkgruber is also open to dogs, so you and your furry friend can experience the world's largest limestone mine and explore the kilometers of passages and tunnels with your dog. Here you first have a lovely walk in the forest to the entrance to the mine, and then a completely different world awaits you. In Daugbjerg Kalkgruber, which is located near Mønsted, you are also welcome to bring your dog. 

Part of the magic of going camping with your dog in Denmark is that your dog is also welcome on holiday. At Skive Fjord Camping you can choose between several of our types of small holiday homes, tiny houses, cabins, where your dog is also welcome to join you. Because of course the whole family should be able to enjoy each other and the holiday - together!  

Dogs are welcome in selected 30 m2 Tinyhouses and all 25 m2 and 20 m2 Panoramahouses. Some houses are kept dog-free for allergy sufferers, but there is a lot to choose from for those with dogs, so it's just a matter of choosing whether you want it to be luxurious or affordable.

We have a dog ourselves and like to go on holiday with a dog, so we know how much it means to be able to choose the perfect spot for your holiday with a dog. You can therefore basically choose where you would like to lie on the site when you bring your own caravan, motorhome or tent. There are no areas that are special "dog areas", so you can choose the spot that both two- and four-legged friends will like best. Whether it's the view, peace, private location, playgrounds, shelter - or something completely different.

For example, choose an XL or XL Panorama pitch if you would like some extra space around your caravan/motorhome/tent for your dog, or a pitch that is peaceful and a bit secluded without many people passing by if you have one or more dogs who feel best that way. You can book a pitch in advance in the online booking, but you are very welcome to take a walk around the pitch upon arrival to see if there is another spot that you think is better suited for you and your dog.
